Announces exclusive album release
Usher is set to be the face of Skims’ new menswear campaign ahead of his halftime performance at Super Bowl LVIII and the release of his ninth studio album, “Coming Home.” The campaign, shot by Donna Trope, showcases two existing menswear collections: Skims Stretch, featuring lightweight and ultra-soft pieces, and Skims Coon, offering essentials from a soft, mid-weight coon blend with built-in recovery. The release will introduce four new colorways: Stone, Midnight Blue, Military, and Oxblood.
Usher expressed humility and excitement about collaborating with Kim Kardashian’s Skims saying, “When I was asked to partner with Skims Mens, I was so humbled,” Usher said in a statement. “Kim’s been a longtime friend of mine who’s always been so supportive of my work, so the opportunity to collaborate together on a campaign that supports both of our highly anticipated launches made total sense.” Adding,
“Launching this campaign ahead of multiple career milestones feels like a full circle moment, with Skims supporting the release of my new album, ‘Coming Home,’” he continued. “With the way that I move, being this comfortable in what you wear is essential. Skims is about embracing who you are, inside and out, and feeling empowered to express yourself authentically.”
As part of the collaboration, Skims will offer an exclusive digital-download version of Usher’s album with an alternative cover and a bonus track, “Naked,” available on the Skims website starting Feb. 8 at 9 p.m PT. This partnership adds Usher to the list of celebrities, including Lana del Rey and Kim Cattrall, who have joined forces with Skims for various campaigns.
