In May of 2023, he did confirm that he had been diagnosed with cancer, but subsequently confirmed that he had gone through treatment and “beat it.”

In February, it was reported that he was entering hospice care for prostate cancer, but shortly after that, he denied the “rumors”.

Simpson rose to fame as a standout running back for the Buffalo Bills and later the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. His prowess on the football field earned him accolades and a place in the hearts of many sports fans. However, it was his entanglement in one of the most infamous criminal cases in American history that truly cemented his name in the annals of notoriety.

The tragic murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994 catapulted Simpson into a legal and media storm that gripped the nation.
