





Apple TV+ set to release “Lady in the Lake”
Apple TV+ is set to launch its latest drama series, “Lady in the Lake,” on Friday, July 19, 2024. Based on the 2019 novel by New York Times bestselling author Laura Lippman, this highly anticipated series promises a captivating blend of mystery and drama, delivered through a compelling storyline and star-studded cast.”Lady in the Lake” is set in Baltimore during Thanksgiving 1966, where the disappearance of a young girl sends shockwaves through the city. The series follows the intersecting lives of two women.
Maddie Schwartz (Natalie Portman), a Jewish housewife with a secret past who aspires to become an investigative journalist, and Cleo Johnson (Moses Ingram), a mother navigating the political undercurrents of Black Baltimore while striving to support her family. As Maddie becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind Cleo’s mysterious death, their worlds collide, creating a dangerous rift that threatens everyone around them.

Natalie Portman: Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-winner, portrays Maddie Schwartz. Portman also serves as an executive producer. Moses Ingram: Emmy Award nominee, stars as Cleo Johnson. Supporting cast members include Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.
“Lady in the Lake” is created, executive produced, written, and directed by Alma Har’el, known for her visionary approach to storytelling. The series is produced by FIFTH SEASON, Crazyrose, and Bad Wolf America. Har’el’s producing partner Christopher Leggett also contributes as an executive producer.
Natalie Portman, alongside her producing partner Sophie Mas, serves as an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Nathan Ross and the late Jean-Marc Vallée for Crazyrose, Julie Gardner for Bad Wolf America, Layne Eskridge, Amy Kaufman, Boaz Yakin, and Laura Lippman.
The series features a compelling soundtrack composed by Marcus Norris, the founder and artistic director of the South Side Symphony. The live performances are composed and produced by Bekon, a Grammy-nominated producer recognized for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s albums “DAMN.” and “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.”
