Megan Thee Stallion had an emotional moment during her Tampa, Florida show after rumors surfaced about an AI-generated sex tape supposedly featuring her. In a fan-posted video, you can see Megan pausing and gathering herself before jumping into her No. 1 hit “Cobra” at Amalie Arena last Saturday night. She looks pretty shaken, covering her eyes and waving her hands like she’s holding back tears.
These rumors are about a deepfake video that allegedly shows her in a compromising position. Deepfakes use AI to make super realistic but fake videos, photos, or audio clips. Megan didn’t mention the tape directly but she clapped back on Twitter, calling it “fake” and saying, “It’s really sick how y’all go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning… Y’all going too far. Fake ass shit. Just know today was your last day playing with me and I mean it.”
Even though she hasn’t publicly talked about the emotional moment on stage, Megan did thank her Tampa fans on Instagram, saying, “TAMPA HOTTIES 🥹🥹🥹🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 Thank you i love y’all! The energy was everything! Love you hotties 💙,” along with a video montage of the concert.
Megan is currently on her Hot Girl Summer Tour, hitting up cities like Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, and Philly. She also announced her new self-titled album during her Atlanta show on June 2. The album cover, which she posted on Instagram, shows her hanging upside down emerging from a butterfly cocoon in what looks like a building lobby with a big “M” in the background.
In a chat with L’Officiel, she explained the snake-themed singles from her new album, saying, “This is what everyone sees right now—renewal, rebirth. That’s the whole concept of this album. I started with the snake because I love snakes, and they represent rebirth and spirituality. I like darker things that are a bit unique and even scary.”
Her new album is dropping on June 28 under her own label, Hot Girl Productions.
