KRISTIN CHENOWETH ADMITS TO BEING “SEVERELY ABUSED” BY AN EX

Kristin Chenoweth Reveals Past Abuse While Reacting to Disturbing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Video

Kristin Chenoweth recently opened up about being “severely abused” by an ex-partner, sharing her personal trauma in response to a disturbing video of Sean “Diddy” Combs attacking his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016. The Broadway star discussed her experiences on social media, bringing to light her own struggles and how she has coped over the years. Chenoweth, 55, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her distress over the resurfaced video of Combs’ assault on Ventura. “Honestly I have my reasons for the Sean Combs video bothering me so much,” she wrote. “The main thing I need to do is pray for him. For real.”

Her comments were met with criticism, as many urged her to pray for the victims rather than the abusers. In response, Chenoweth shared her own harrowing experience of abuse. “Never wanted to come out with it, but here we go,” she revealed. “Several years ago I was severely abused. It took me therapy and prayer to understand I deserved better. I was deeply injured physically and spiritually. The only thing I knew to do when I got out was pray. Pray for myself. Pray for him as he grew up abused. So. There y’all go.”

In a follow-up post, the “Pushing Daisies” star described her lowest point, admitting, “I must admit I haven’t forgiven yet. It’s beyond me. God is helping me through that part.” Chenoweth emphasized that victims must handle their experiences in ways that are best for them, expressing hope that her story might help others.

Chenoweth, who is now married to singer Josh Bryant, has had notable relationships in the past, including an engagement to Marc Kudisch and relationships with Lane Garrison, Seth Green, Aaron Sorkin, and Dana Brunetti. However, she did not disclose the identity of her abuser. The catalyst for Chenoweth’s revelations was a CNN-published surveillance video from 2016, showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California. The footage shows Combs kicking and dragging Ventura in a violent confrontation.

Chenoweth’s candidness about her past abuse sheds light on the personal struggles many face and underscores the importance of speaking out against violence and seeking help and healing.
