Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, with some unexpected twists. J Lo filed the paperwork herself on Tuesday in L.A. County Superior Court, listing their separation date as April 26, 2024. Interestingly, she chose to file on August 20, the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony.
Surprisingly, the documents reveal no mention of a prenuptial agreement, and sources confirm there isn’t one. This means their earnings during the nearly two-year marriage could be considered community property.
Despite the lack of a prenup, J Lo waived spousal support and requested the court deny support for Ben as well. With no children together, there are no custody issues to resolve.
The couple has been trying to settle financial matters for months, but negotiations have grown increasingly tense, with periods of not speaking to each other. Despite these ongoing disputes, J Lo decided to officially file.
