Kim Cattrall Shuts Down Rumors of Return in ‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3
Kim Cattrall, who briefly revived her iconic role as Samantha Jones in the Season 2 finale of the “Sex and the City” spinoff, “And Just Like That…,” has addressed recent rumors about her return.
On July 21, Cattrall responded to buzz generated by an Elle article suggesting her comeback for Season 3. The headline read, “It Looks Like Samantha Jones Will Be Back For ‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3 After All,” to which Cattrall responded via Twitter, “Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” adding a lipstick kiss emoji for emphasis.
Cattrall originally starred as the sassy PR executive Samantha in “Sex and the City” for six seasons. Her recent cameo in the spinoff marked the first on-screen appearance of her character, who had previously been mentioned only through text messages on Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) phone.
In Season 1 of “And Just Like That…,” viewers learned that Samantha had moved to London following a falling out with Carrie, mirroring the real-life tension between Cattrall and Parker. The Season 2 finale featured a nostalgic phone call from Samantha, who regretted missing Carrie’s farewell dinner for her iconic Manhattan apartment. Despite her delayed flight, Samantha and Carrie shared a heartfelt moment over the phone.
As the show gears up for its third season, it’s clear that changes are afoot. Sara Ramirez, who portrayed Che Diaz, recently announced their departure from the series. The spinoff has received mixed reviews, with fans divided over the new faces joining Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda at their signature brunches.
