Meteorologists Warn Coastal Residents to Prepare for Unseasonably Hot Conditions as Heat Wave Sweeps Across the Region
LA Times is warning Angeleno’s about the scorching heat headed our way. Southern California is gearing up for a heat wave that’s expected to bring triple-digit temperatures across much of the region this week.
This extreme heat isn’t just limited to us—it’s affecting large parts of the country, including Nevada and Arizona. Meteorologist Ryan Kittell from the National Weather Service’s Oxnard office mentioned that since the days are now shorter compared to June and July, desert areas are getting less sunlight. This means the temperature difference between desert and coastal communities is narrowing.
Kittell emphasized that people living near the coast, especially those without air conditioning, might not be prepared for this heat. “Make plans now for how you are going to stay cool,” he advised.
