Baby mama claims he physically attacked her and exposes explosive allegations on his alleged sexuality
Former NBA player Larry Sanders, now playing in the Big3 league, is facing serious allegations of domestic violence from his son’s mother, known on Instagram as @therealhollij. The accusations stem from an incident in February, which she captured on video and recently shared on social media.

In the distressing video, Sanders is seen on his knees, apologizing repeatedly and pleading with the woman not to release the footage. He expresses deep concern that publicizing the incident could destroy what remains of his professional basketball career. Sanders, 35, has been playing in the Big3, a 3-on-3 basketball league, since 2019, after taking several years off from basketball.
The controversy escalated when @therealhollij posted additional claims on Instagram, accusing Sanders of withholding their son from her. According to her, the two had agreed that Sanders would have custody of their child for the summer, with the understanding that he would return the child at the season’s end. She alleges that after spending the summer enjoying her time alone, Sanders became jealous and refused to return their son, allegedly because he didn’t want her seeing other men. She has described Sanders as a “controlling narcissist” and claims that releasing the video was a desperate attempt to get him to comply with their agreement. She has also threatened to reveal more details about their tumultuous relationship if Sanders does not return their son.
In response, Sanders took to his Instagram stories, accusing @therealhollij of being mentally unstable and manic. He claimed that he withheld their son to protect him from her erratic behavior, alleging that she had been “jumping from hotel to hotel room with different men” in Miami. Sanders himself has been open about his own struggles with mental health, having famously walked away from a $44 million contract and the NBA in 2015 at the age of 26 to address his anxiety and depression. Since then, he has become an advocate for mental health awareness, often speaking out about the pressures athletes face and the importance of mental well-being.
On her IG live, #realhollij also exposed some explosive allegations regarding Larry’s sexuality as she read messages out loud from someone allegedly claiming that they were in a relationship with Sanders and had gone through their phone finding proof that he lived a double life on the down low (an urban phrase used to describe men living their lives as straight to the outside world but secretly having sexual affairs with other men) and confirming that he was a narcissist from their experience as well.
The situation has drawn significant attention online, with many expressing concern for the well-being of their child. Sanders and @therealhollij’s public dispute highlights the complex and often painful dynamics that can arise in custody battles, particularly when mental health issues are involved.
As this story continues to unfold, many are left wondering about the impact on their son and hoping for a resolution that prioritizes his safety and well-being.
