Ellen DeGeneres has announced her intention to leave Hollywood after her upcoming Netflix special, saying, “This is the last time you’re going to see me.”
During a standup performance in Santa Rosa, California, on July 1, Ellen reflected on her life post-The Ellen DeGeneres Show. When asked by a fan if she had any plans for Broadway or film, she responded candidly, “Um, no. This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done,” as reported by SFGATE.
Ellen expressed gratitude for her time on stage, saying, “Thank you for still caring! Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens.” She added with a touch of humor, “Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”
She then quipped about her future, predicting she might be “kicked out for being old,” and joked, “Old, gay, and mean—the triple crown.”
