Christian McCaffrey defended his new bride, Olivia Culpo, after fashion influencer Kennedy Bingham criticized her wedding gown. Bingham, known as Gown Eyed Girl on social media, posted a video on Instagram and TikTok, describing Culpo’s long-sleeved Dolce & Gabbana dress as “simple, elegant,” but lacking “personality.” Bingham’s main issue was with Culpo’s comments to Vogue, where she expressed her desire for a gown that did not “exude sex in any way, shape, or form” and reflected the seriousness of marriage. Bingham felt Culpo’s remarks pushed an idea of what all brides should look like and accused her of promoting a “conservative agenda.”
McCaffrey responded in the comments, saying, “What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does.”
While some commenters appreciated Bingham’s insights, others criticized her critique as “unnecessary and rude.” One Instagram user defended Culpo, stating, “Why is it okay to pick apart her words, take them personally and call her a pick me? If she’s a model and Miss Universe maybe she wants to feel serious about herself, didn’t sound like she was judging other women at all.” Another added, “I personally think this dress, the way it was styled, and everything about her look was STUNNING! No need to overanalyze or tear someone else down just because you don’t agree.”
