During yesterday’s @realdailywire Backstage episode, host Candace Owens labeled Taylor Swift as “the most toxic feminist that’s ever existed,” surprising fellow host Matt Walsh. Owens criticized Swift’s approach to business deals and her public battle for music rights. Walsh mostly agreed with Owens but found the label extreme. He suggested countering Swift’s influence with conservative cultural alternatives instead of simply criticizing her. Owens reiterated her stance, criticizing Swift for crediting Lena Dunham with teaching her feminism and accusing her of capitalizing on victimhood to amass wealth.
