According to family lore, Davis Hogue would hide bottles of whiskey in hollowed-out cedar trees for friends and family to find. These stories resonated with Beyoncé, reinforcing her belief that this whiskey was meant to be a part of her legacy. The whiskey was submitted anonymously to several prestigious competitions before its official launch and came out on top, winning Best in Class for American Whiskey at the 2023 SIP Awards.
