BEYONCÉ FAN REVEALS THAT A COUNTRY RADIO STATION REFUSED TO PLAY HER NEW COUNTRY SONG

How the saga began and ended

A devoted Beyonce fan shared that a country music radio station declined to play her new country song, citing they “do not play Beyonce,” sparking backlash. Despite Beyonce’s roots in Texas and previous ventures into country music, like her song “Daddy Lessons,” she faced exclusion from the genre, mirroring Lil Nas X’s experience with “Old Town Road.”

Speculation arose that Beyonce’s latest project aims to reclaim genres rooted in Black music, with her new songs being labeled as having “strong country influences.” However, a fan’s attempt to request her song at a local radio station was initially rejected, prompting questions about racial bias. The station later clarified that they didn’t realize Beyonce had ventured into country music and now plan to play her songs after receiving them. Beyonce’s management even expressed gratitude for the airplay despite the initial misunderstanding.
