The Gorgas and Wakiles Might be Future Neighbors, but They Won’t Be Sharing Sugar…That’s for Sure!
In the latest twist that has fans buzzing, Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) star Melissa Gorga recently shared some eyebrow-raising details about her strained relationship with Joe Gorga’s cousins, Kathy and Richie Wakile. The tension has been simmering for a while, with Melissa, Joe, and Kathy airing their frustrations on various platforms, including Melissa’s podcast “On Display,” “Watch What Happens Live,” and “Jeff Lewis Live.”
Joe recounted a surprising encounter with Richie Wakile at a plumbing supply store. He was loading materials when he stumbled over a forklift, and to his surprise, Richie was the one who asked if he was alright. Joe tried to be polite, knowing they would soon be neighbors, but Richie’s response was curt and dismissive, leaving Joe feeling snubbed.
“And this is the time that they bought the property and were gonna move to the neighborhood, so I was being nice. I go, ‘Hey, what’s up Richie? What’s up Wakile?’ That’s what I call him, and I was gonna be extremely nice, and just say, ‘What’s up?’ and ‘Welcome to the neighborhood,'” he recounted. “And you know what he said to me… He goes, ‘Hey, that’s Mr. Wakile to you.’ And he gets in his car and he tears off. Like, really rude and nasty.”
Melissa addressed her feelings about a comment Kathy made on “Watch What Happens Live.” Kathy had mentioned that their new properties were so large they probably wouldn’t see much of each other. Melissa felt the comment had a negative flair, making it seem like Kathy was brushing off the possibility of neighborly interactions.
On “Jeff Lewis Live,” Melissa clarified that her intentions were to be nice and potentially help the cousins move forward. She emphasized she wasn’t trying to bring Kathy and Richie back into their lives, but hoped for a cordial relationship given their new proximity. Melissa felt her olive branch was met with unnecessary hostility, which left her regretting the effort.
Kathy later appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, calling Melissa’s comments “very convenient,” which only added fuel to the fire. Joe Gorga, on Melissa’s podcast, revealed that his last interaction with Richie left a bitter taste, deepening the family feud.
This ongoing drama has sparked speculation among fans about the future of RHONJ. With the current season not performing well and viewers eagerly anticipating the final episode, a major shakeup seems imminent. Will RHONJ recast the entire show like Real Housewives of New York, or follow the Real Housewives of Atlanta model and make selective changes?
Rumors are swirling about potential returns, including Jacqueline Laurita, who has rekindled her friendship with Teresa Giudice, and Danielle Staub, recently tagged by Bravo in an Instagram Reel about the show’s latest episode. Speculation about the current cast also abounds, with many believing Jennifer Aydin might be out due to her alleged leaks to bloggers. The ongoing rift between Teresa and Melissa could mean one of them might not return.
